Critical Records

Privatlocker is built to store any and all life information, but here is a list of suggestions of what to upload first to get you started.

Personal Identification

One of the critical pieces of information that you need digital copies of, for both for yourself and your Privatlocker Trustee, is your Personal Identification. This is especially important at a time of an emergency.

Records that can help with this include:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • National Insurance Card
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Visa or Citizenship

Insurance Information

Insurance providers, when contacting them, require codes and proof of insurance when an unexpected emergency occurs such as a car accident, robbery or other loss.

Records that can help include:

  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Home and contents insurance
  • Car Insurance
  • Pet insurance

Legal Documents

In the event that something unexpected occurs, legal documents such as your most recent Will and Testament, Power of Attorney or a Do-Not-Resuscitate are needed urgently. It is rare that our loved ones or trusted advisors know where to look, with the discovery of these documents often proving to be a difficult task.

Records that can help with this include:

  • Will
  • Power of Attorney
  • Do-Not-Resuscitate
  • Executor Contact Information

Financial Information

At any given time, you may require quick access to certain financial information.

Records that can help with this include:

  • Bank Accounts
  • Credit Cards
  • Debit Cards
  • Mortgages
  • Financial Adviser or Accountant contact information

Your Digital Life

When an unexpected event occurs, such as a death or accident, it can be incredibly difficult for our loved ones to access our digital accounts. This leads to social profiles remaining active, paid subscriptions not being cancelled or being unable to access physical devices.

It’s important to communicate your Wishes with regard to your online presence if something were to happen to you, and ensure they have the required information to access it.

Additionally, if you’re storing your passwords somewhere for your own record, it’s important to make sure these are secure and only accessible by yourself.

Records that can help with this include:

  • Passwords and account information
  • List of social media profiles
  • Device passwords
  • Email access
  • Digital subscriptions
